IEMT

The hummingbird is a messenger of joy, it symbolises resilience and the sweetness of the present moment. Its presence reminds us to find happiness in the smallest of things.

Integral Eye Movement Therapy (IEMT) is a form of psychotherapy that uses specific patterns of eye movements to help individuals process and reduce the impact of emotional trauma, distressing emotions and deeply held beliefs. It is a relatively innovative approach within psychological therapy, drawing on principles associated with Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) alongside elements of cognitive restructuring.

IEMT works by identifying and resolving both emotional and identity imprints that underpin distress. It is commonly applied in the treatment of trauma, particularly where distress is driven by repeated micro-experiences of shame, fear or humiliation that may be overlooked in conventional diagnostic models. Sometimes difficult experiences can stay with us long after the original event has passed.  We may find ourselves experiencing the same emotional reactions, thoughts or patterns of behaviour without fully understanding why.

Integral Eye Movement Therapy is a brief, experiential approach that can help you explore these patterns in a gentle and focused way. It uses specific eye movements alongside carefully guided questions while you focus your attention on a particular experience, feeling or emotional response.

It explores how emotional experiences and patterns of identity may become deeply held in the mind, sometimes influencing how we feel, react and see ourselves. Rather than needing to analyse or talk extensively about the past, providing a structured process for exploring what you are experiencing in the present. The aim is to help create space for new ways of responding so that you can feel less restricted by patterns that may no longer be helpful.

IEMT is a practical, focused process that can support you in understanding yourself differently and moving towards positive change. If you feel stuck in certain beliefs or reactions then it  may help you. Suitability will discussed in the discovery call, please book via the link below.
