Committed to undertaking regular supervision as well as a minimum of 30 hours CPD each year, ensuring that my theoretical knowledge and practical skills are up to date with research & development in the field.
I'm Nicole, an accredited counsellor MNCPS (Acc.) and founder of Harmony Therapy Practice. I have both Masters and Bachelors Degrees in Psychology as well as Diplomas in Hypnotherapy and Counselling, including Level 5 in counselling practice.
From an early age I’ve been drawn to psychology, particularly to understanding people’s experiences and the way our minds shape how we cope with adversity. My own journey together with that of my family’s, as we’ve navigated neurodiversity (AuDHD) has only deepened that passion.
It’s shown me just how profoundly our thoughts, emotions and beliefs influence our psychological health, inspiring me to become a counsellor so that I can offer others the understanding, compassion and practical support that can make such a meaningful difference.
The medical model of mental health can sometimes pathologise the individual, particularly through the use of diagnostic labels whilst paying less attention to the broader social and systemic factors that influence individual distress. As a result, reactions that are understandable responses, may instead be classified as disorders.
This has formed the foundation of a specialist interest in trauma, particularly how it shapes thoughts, emotions and lived experience, as well as the mind–body–spirit connection that supports healing, growth and overall psychosocial wellbeing.
Grounded in the belief that inner harmony is essential for 'flourishing', we support you in accessing your innate strength and resources, providing an empathetic and supportive environment, our methodology aligning with the principles of client autonomy and empowerment. Recognising that every person is unique and may benefit from an integrative approach to counselling, drawing on a range of therapeutic perspectives, we tailor therapy to suit your individual needs.
Together we explore and address unhelpful patterns and limiting beliefs that may be holding you back, supporting you to move towards your goals and realise your full potential. We support you to overcome your challenges, to continue growing independently, building resilience and navigating future situations with confidence.
We provide a free 10 minute Discovery Call to help you make an informed and confident decision about embarking on a therapeutic journey that can improve your overall wellbeing. Therapy sessions last for 50 minutes and are usually held weekly (same day/time). With therapy rooms in locations across Brighton & Hove and London, we also offer the option of online appointments for your convenience, so you can be in the comfort of your own home.
